Refund and Cancellation Policy

Clear arrangements for classes, programmes, memberships and online services.

Draft updated 3 September 2026 · Owner and legal review required

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights. Contact drjar@apextaichi.com promptly if you need to cancel, transfer or discuss a payment.

Pay-on-arrival and prepaid classes

Where payment is due on arrival, no cancellation fee normally applies if you cannot attend. For a prepaid class, workshop or event, any refund or transfer depends on the notice provided, costs already incurred and the terms shown when booking.

Private sessions and programmes

Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange a private session. With less notice, the session may be treated as used and the fee may remain payable, except where exceptional circumstances make that unfair.

Programme sessions should be used within the agreed programme period or an extension agreed with Apex Tai Chi. If a programme ends early, any refund or remaining payment will be calculated fairly, considering sessions delivered, resources supplied, reasonable costs and your statutory rights.

Monthly membership

You may cancel a recurring membership through the available Stripe cancellation process or by contacting Apex Tai Chi. Unless law requires otherwise, access continues until the end of the period already paid for and no further recurring payment should be taken after cancellation takes effect. A part-month refund is not normally provided simply because the membership was unused, but mistakes, duplicate charges and legal cancellation rights will be handled fairly.

Online and distance purchases

When you buy a service online, by telephone or away from the usual business premises, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days, subject to exceptions. If you expressly ask for a service to begin during that period, a reasonable amount may be charged for what has already been supplied. For immediately supplied digital content, you may be asked to consent to early supply and acknowledge when the cancellation right will be lost.

If Apex Tai Chi cancels

A service may be cancelled, moved or adapted because of illness, venue problems, severe weather, safety concerns, technical failure or circumstances outside reasonable control. If Apex Tai Chi cancels a prepaid service and cannot offer a suitable alternative, you will normally receive an appropriate transfer, credit or refund for the affected part.

Where a paid online service cannot be delivered because of a significant technical problem caused by Apex Tai Chi, a replacement, credit or appropriate refund will normally be offered.

How refunds are made

Approved refunds are normally returned using the original payment method. Processing time can depend on Stripe and your bank. We will explain any deduction before completing the refund.
